Property Description
Welcome to La Mandaluz, a unique villa designed by renowned Iranian architect Kourosh Mohsenipour for a couple of art collectors, just 1 kilometre from the centre of Ronda. From the moment you enter the private driveway, the property reveals its essence, where architectural design and art find their balance in an exceptional natural setting. With stunning views of the Grazalema Natural Park, this residence combines sophistication, sculptural design and a deep connection with nature. Its location is truly exceptional, between a protected environment that will never be developed and the immediate proximity to the historic centre of Ronda. This makes La Mandaluz a very unique retreat, a true haven of peace. The villa is spread over two levels and has been created with exquisite attention to detail, integrating unique pieces of art, bespoke architectural elements and carefully selected materials that reflect the spirit of the Andalusian landscape. On the entrance floor, you are greeted by a hall with a spectacular seven-metre window that frames the landscape as if it were a work of art. This level offers two suites and a bedroom with en-suite bathroom, while the main floor is organised around an impressive double-height living room, crowned by a three-dimensional fresco by Portuguese artist Pedro Calapez and a sculptural French-designed lamp. The kitchen and dining room, a cosy library, the family room, an additional suite and an exquisite spa area complete the interior spaces, designed for comfort and serenity. The villa is filled with unique pieces created specifically for it, such as the handmade ceramics designed by French artists and the handcrafted banister leading to the main floor. Each room has been designed as a space for contemplation and harmony, with large windows framing the horizon and visually connecting the interior with the surrounding nature. The spacious terraces extend the experience outdoors, where a large pergola with metal pillars casts a play of light and shadow, ideal for gatherings, al fresco dining and unforgettable sunsets. A ceramic fresco depicting the cardinal points guides visitors towards the most impressive views of the natural park, while a tiled courtyard with a waterfall leads to the swimming lane-style pool, suspended between the sky and the mountains. At the top of the garden, a Mongolian yurt houses an art library and an intimate reading space. La Mandaluz owes its name to an ancient Zen garden inspired by a mandala, a concept that reflects the spirit of the villa: serenity, light, and balance. With sustainable and sophisticated water collection systems, as well as an irrigated garden system, no municipal water is needed for maintenance. Rainwater from the roof is collected through gutters and passes through an initial 40 m³ tank, then pumped to another 140 m³ tank, and finally to several flexible cisterns, totaling 530 m³ of storage capacity. After being filtered and purified, the water is pumped to a 24 m³ tank that supplies irrigation for the estate. Uncollected water infiltrates the ground, replenishing the groundwater table. The insulation is complete thanks to metal shutters and absolute integration with its natural surroundings. This dream villa is the perfect place to enjoy long stays, disconnect, and live surrounded by beauty at its finest.
